Thursday, November 9, 2017, is National Genetic Counselor Awareness Day. In an effort to help raise awareness and spread the word, we will be sharing videos from the UAB Genetic Counseling program's alumni, faculty and clinicians. These videos are part of the National Society of Genetic Counselors efforts using #IAmaGeneticCounselor.
This video features Whitley Kelley, an alumna of our Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program, who is a genetic counselor at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology and The Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine. She talks about working as a genetic counselor in clinical and research settings and why she loves working with families. Enjoy!
