Perhaps one of the best act finales written by Donizetti, sung by the prime Gruberova. Of course as a tendency of Gruberova some of the low notes were avoided and most of the lower range was not properly produced. But somehow to my personal taste, I find those ill-produced notes even more expressive. At the end she also took the more or less controversial High E to conclude Act II, which I completely do not mind, after all is a f**king High E that is carried over the entire orchestra and chorus and it is much better than those ones done in her other productions later in her career (which then I think she should have just left it).
