Noel Edmonds looks at the weekly pop chart from 8th January 1976 and introduces Osibisa, Sailor, R & J Stone, Tony Christie, Sheer Elegance, Electric Light Orchestra, Barbara Dickson, Queen, Crispy & Company and a Pans People dance sequence.
As Noel states fun guys and now fungi...ho ho ho stop it Noel. Some strange goings on around a giant toadstool with four of PP dressed as gypsies dancing to this Small Faces hit (about 10 years too late - hoo hum), to a pink Vaseline like circle smear around the outside.
Rather strange and very silly, and looks so out of place with the country in a fresh grip of a new dance craze at that moment in time - namely disco..
Alot of strange spooky face pulling at the camera, now if this is suppose to be 'Itchycoo Park' I don't wanna go there..a strange mixture of old Hammer films and Hansel & Gretal.
Utterly bizarre, but worth watching (even for the humorous into by 'The Edmondster'™),
It maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but you gotta admit the women look stunning (even in old shawls and rags)
Thanks again to VintageVideos, who supplied me with a fresh recut from the episode in question, to include the intro & outro by Noel.
