Norwegian Painter Ørnulf Opdahl (born January 5, 1944 in Ålesund) Nature has the leading role in Opdahl's art, wet, rough, poetic and at times almost abstract. His interpretations of the Norwegian west coast nature has undoubtedly helped to renew the Norwegian landscape painting in the tradition of JC Dahl and Peder Balke. Man is only represented with a few bright spots in Opdahl world. A mixture of concrete experiences and abstract impressions converge in his quest to capture the landscape's changing atmosphere.
