In this video I discuss failed back surgery syndrome. This syndrome became classified due to the high volume of spinal fusion surgery that rapidly came about approximately 20 years ago and a correlation with a large number of patients with ongoing or new back pain after spine surgery.
In this video and some of my previous video’s I explain the causes, risk factors and when surgery is not appropriate.

I started The Spine MDT to build a network of all the different professions of spine care (osteopathy, physiotherapy, chiropractic and pain management) under my oversight as a spinal neurosurgeon to keep open and clear channels of communication between the people treating my patients. This has helped prevent the spreading of harmful beliefs about the spine, but get to the diagnosis and find the least invasive solution that gives the longest lasting result.
