Python is the 1981 Vekoma MK-1200 at Efteling. It has a max height of 29m, a top speed of 75 km/h, 2 inversions and a track length of 750m. It has a fascinating history, being Efteling's first coaster and one of Vekoma's oldest operating coasters. It opened with Arrow trains then switched to Vekoma MK-1200 trains like those that are currently running on Goudurix in 1996. It then got new trains (that were better looking but significatly worse than the old ones) from KumbaK in 2005. They were involved in an incidend where a train was stopped on the top of the lift hill, getting evacuted, and they started rolling forwards with the restraints open. Thankfully, no one was injured as the riders quickly pulled down their restraints. At the end of 2011, the catastrophic KumbaK trains were replaced by new generation Vekoma MK-1212 trains with vest restraints. It closed in 2017/2018 to get a full retrack from Belgian manufacturer CSM, and honestly, it does wonders for the ride experience. It's glossy smooth from start to finish and shows how old Vekoma layouts can be saved by some adjustments. I honestly prefered to to Baron 1898.
