Subretinal rTPA injection in subretinal mass hemorrhage in AMD
Subretinal mass hemorrhage due to exsudative age-related macular degeneration can often be displaced using the simple technique of subretinal rTPA injection and air tamponade. This minimally invasive approach using 27g vitrectomy allows for subretinal injection of rTPA dissolving the bleeding. The air tamponade of the vitreous cavity displaces the dissolved blood with a high success rate.*
