The class 91's entered service during March 1989 and still hold the speed record for locomotives in the UK (161.7 mph). The opening sequence shows the 91 with an adapted HST being used as a DVT. During their service, they have carried a number of livery variations, some of which are shown here. The remaining members of the class are due to be withdrawn from service shortly.
