Windy and very cold for today! A few light snow showers will even be possible in Northwestern and North-Central Illinois this morning. Skies will be partly cloudy otherwise. A gusty northerly wind will peak near 35 mph at times bringing wind chills only in the 20s for the daytime hours. Thermometer readings will only top out at 42 degrees this afternoon.

Tonight will be the coldest so far this Fall season. We'll be mostly clear with low temperatures around 25 degrees.

The weekend will be bright and sunny, but chilly. We won't get out of the 40s on Saturday with middle 50s expected Sunday. Next chance of precipitation comes in the form of rain Monday night into Tuesday.
