This morning August 6, 2012, members of the Tidewater Regional Fire Academy #136 participated in a tribute for SOC Jason R. Workman. Jason died one year ago today in Afghanistan with 30 other members of a joint special operations mission. The hose they were training with is named in his honor. The Firefighters had the honor of training with the Workman during their recruit academy. The Workman is six layers of 5" hose bolted together weighing at least 500 lbs. Workman is a team building training tool used to bring the recruits closer together and closer they became. A Father, a Husband, a Son, a Brother, a Friend and a Warrior, Jason gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country and comrades. Jason gave his all in everything he accomplished. He believed in what he was doing with all his soul. His commitment was exemplary, his drive remarkable, his prowess and stature legendary. This was our tribute to him. Thanks
