SHARON STONE PRAYS AT JERUSALEM'S WAILING WALL
Sharon Stone continued her stay in Israel, Sunday (12MAR06), with a visit to the Wailing Wall, one of the holiest sites for Jews around the world.
Surrounded by press, Stone followed a long held Jewish tradition, writing a wish on a piece of paper, and placing it in inside one of the cracks of the wall.
Hundreds gathered to watch the actress, as she prayed by the wall, her head and hands against the stone.
Later the same day, Stone met with Israeli acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Olmert took a short break from his ongoing campaign for the March 28 elections to talk with the Hollywood star. The two spoke of Stone's visit to the country, and her visit to a hospital were AIDS patient are being treated.
The star is a guest of the Peres Center for Peace which is headed by former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres.
The center is a non-governmental organisation founded by Peres in 1996 to improve Israel's relations with Arabs.
Sharon Stone was expected celebrate her 48th birthday (10 March) with a gala dinner aimed at raising fund for further projects.
