Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt Multipurpose two-inch ball mount with the two-inch hitch receiver for bike racks and cargo carriers. Has a 7,500-pound capacity. Now this is a multipurpose ball mount. It includes the two-inch square receiver here at the top to let you carry accessories such as your bike rack or your cargo carrier, while also towing.
The two-inch receiver up here is intended for accessories only. It's not to be used with an additional ball mount. Now when mounting an accessory in this receiver, your hitch's tongue weight capacity will be reduced by 50% and this ball mount will hook up to your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank right here is what'll slide into your vehicle's two-inch hitch receiver and the ball platform up front here is what'll provide the mounting point for your hitch ball. Now the hitch ball's not included.
Does have a ball hole diameter of one inch, so whatever hitch ball you purchase does need to have a shank diameter of one inch to fit in there. Now this is a sturdy steel that's black powder coated for corrosion resistance. If you notice, they do include a 5/8-inch diameter hitch pinning clip. So when you do install this into your hitch opening, you can use the pinning clip. Now we do also sell hitch locks separately if you need extra security.
We do sell those separately on our website. Application, this is designed to fit two-inch by two-inch trailer hitch receivers. Now the ball mount itself, the gross towing weight on it is 7,500 pounds, tongue weight of 750 pounds, which is stamped on this label right here. We mentioned the ball hole diameter of one inch. Now this does give you a drop, so when you do install this it'll give you a drop of two inches and that's measured from the top of your shank to the top of the ball platform.
Total length on this, which will be measured from the center of the hitch pinhole to the center of the ball hole, is gonna be 12 1/2 inches. The accessory size right up here, receiver size, is two inches by two inches, and, again, the tongue weight capacity on it is 750 pounds. Now one thing I do wanna mention on the product page on our website of this part number at the very bottom of the product page, we do list a picture of this with many more dimensions on it if there's some dimension you might want on this.
