Long back in 2011, Vaitarna south river bridge no.92 got partially damaged due to continuous illegal sand mining and also heavy rainfall which led to soil erosion and bridge foundation getting weak.
This forced WR to impose precautionary speed restrictions of 20kph on this bridge.
In April 2016 this bridge was finally taken up for rebuilding. As Mumbai-Baroda is a crucial mainline connecting the city to the north and western India, bridge repair work was done in a phased manner.
Now finally DN rail line speed has been increased upto 120kph while UP rail line speed has been increased to 100kph
In this video enjoy the BRC WAP7 30533 led 12951 Mumbai Rajdhani doing 120kph through Vaitarna bridge which was earlier considered as one of the dangerous railway bridge.
