Henley-on-Thames is a town and civil parish on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England, 9 miles northeast of Reading, 7 miles west of Maidenhead, 23 miles southeast of Oxford and 37 miles west of London, near the tripoint of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The population at the 2011 Census was 12,186.
Henley is often known because of its links to rowing through the Henley Royal Regatta. It was first established here in 1839 because of the straight part of river known as the Henley Reach though this stretch was subsequently extended artificially.
Henley on Thames is one of the most beautiful towns in England, recently voted by The Times as one of the best places to live in the English countryside and a regular winner of RHS Britain in Bloom medals.
