Today's video deals with the removal of a Bosch dishwasher and the installation of the new KitchenAid. There were a few surprises that could've been avoided if a bit of more in depth information were provided by the local sales staff. Of course the way things are today, nothing stays the same so what used to be considered 'universal' installation practices are not necessarily adhered to by all manufacturers. But then we must as consumers understand that many of the 'upgrades' of devices required are usually considered better for the homeowner.....but they sure don't give a rat's behind about the installer whether its the avid DIY'er or a factory trained tech.
No matter, we easily overcome the obstacles to complete the installation in record time to find a fully functional quiet appliance that is as quiet as a church mouse. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm assuming they are quiet because all the time I was an alter -boy as a kid, I never saw a single one or heard one either !! Of course that could have been divine intervention...a fella never knows. But I digress. The installation was indeed very easy with only a basic variety of tools. I used many more than they suggested in the installation manual simply because I have them at my disposal AND sometimes different tools make the job much easier. Well, that and the fact that I happen to be a retired commercial HVAC service tech with well over 40 years under my belt. Well there's a lot of good eating under by belt too...but that is because the Missus is one heckuva good cook !! I truly believe that's why we wore out the super duper Bosch dishwasher so soon...it's all the cooking and baking she does to wear them out and to keep me fat and happy.
