When it rains, it pours! For the one who loves high-intensity red-ball action, there are two enthralling series beginning on Friday (November 22) in two different parts of the world. It's like back-to-back actions without getting disturbed and being interrupted. While one Asian nation is in Australia, the other one, Bangladesh, are in the Caribbean Islands for an all-format tour consisting of two Tests, three ODIs and as many T20Is.

The visitors will kickstart the tour with the red-ball assignment as they take on West Indies in the series opener at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

The Bangla Tigers are without two senior players, one of whom is their captain. Veteran Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out due to a fracture on his left index finger while wicketkeeping during the first ODI versus Afghanistan in Sharjah.

This is the first time in 16 years that the tourists will enter a Test series without Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, or Rahim.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was confirmed to have a Grade II strain on his left groin and missed the third and final ODI against the Afghan Atalans. The left-handed batter will miss the Test series, and in his absence, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will don the Bangladesh blazer while walking out for the toss in Antigua.

Shahadat Hossain has been named as Shanto's replacement.

Bangladesh's batting has been disappointing, to say the least, in the last couple of red-ball series. After a famous series win in Pakistan, Bangladesh lost their way, especially in batting, and lost two Test series, one in India and the other at home against South Africa.

They have dropped Nayeem Hasan and pacer Khaled Ahmed but have trusted the top and middle order, which haven't yielded much results recently. The pace-bowling unit has Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana. Hasan Murad gets another go in the squad and will partner Mehidy and Taijul Islam in the spin department.

The visitors don't have an impressive record at the venue, getting all-out cheaply on the previous two occasions in the format.

It's been a lot of white-ball action in the Caribbean Islands for a few months. The last time Kraigg Braithwaite was seen in a West Indies blazer was back in August. The hosts lost to the Proteas 0-1 in a two-match series before a long season of white-ball parties started in the Islands.

The Windies will be without their former captain and all-rounder Jason Holder, who is still nursing a shoulder injury. Justin Greaves has had a sensational run in the domestic competition and has been called back into the squad, while Kevin Sinclair also returns, adding an extra spin option. There is no Gudakesh Motie in the red-ball set-up. The left-arm spinner played in the white-ball series against England but hasn't been named in this red-ball squad.

West Indies have already announced their playing XI. Greaves makes a comeback into the XI, which has a four-man pace attack. Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales make the cut with no frontline spinner in the playing XI.

The hosts will aim to take advantage of the conditions and overcome the weather to take an early lead in the series, while the Miraz-led unit hopes to return to the winning ways.
