Cancer cells divide at an incredible rate, and as a result they gobble up valuable resources from the body such as amino acids, carbohydrates, nucleus acids, and lipids. The metabolic program of these cancer cells is so aggressive that they can change the surrounding pH, engineering an even better environment for the tumor to grow. This is termed the Warburg Effect.
I also misspoke in the middle and said 1) high pH when i meant low pH - sorry!
