00:02:30 Water light music Concert - Wasserlichtkonzerte und Wasserspiele am Parksee
"The perfect end to the day on warm summer evenings: from May to September, the famous water light concerts take place every evening at 10 p.m. in a romantic atmosphere at the park lake in Planten un Blomen.
You should definitely have experienced this spectacle: the water light organ is played live and the colorfully illuminated water fountains move synchronously to the music according to a specially written score. Two artists implement the arrangements: one moves the water fountains and the other plays the "light piano". The magical performance lasts half an hour and ends a long, exciting day in an atmospheric way with the water features in the Planten un Blomen in Hamburg.
Harmony of light, water and music
The "light piano" alone has 95 white keys and the water is sprayed into various shapes through 99 water glands. The main jet can even reach a height of up to 36 meters. A little information on the side: the water light organ moves as much water as a city with 500,000 inhabitants uses per hour! Fountains rise from the lake, fall back to the harmony of the music and there are light effects of many colors.
First water fountain in Planten un Blomen as early as 1938
The first water fountain was installed in Planten un Blomen as early as 1938 - with a 50 meter high water jet and two side fountains. For the International Horticultural Exhibition in 1953 and 1963, this first predecessor of the water light organ was expanded and the water light organ has existed in its current form since the IGA 1973." - [ Ссылка ]
"Planten un Blomen
Just a short stroll from the city Planten un Blomen park is the place to relax under Mediterranean fig trees or at the Japanese teahouse.
In the heart of central Hamburg, Planten un Blomen park is linking inner city shopping streets with Hamburg convention and exhibition centres, Hamburg University and the bars and pubs of St. Pauli. In other words, it functions as the connector between the Outer Alster lake and the Elbe river.
Covering 450,000 sqm of reclaimed medieval fortifications, the park lives up to its name. Planten un Blomen is Low German and translates to 'Plants and Flowers'. The park offers manicured flower beds, herb gardens and vast lawns. Idyllic ponds as well as themed gardens are a popular time-out spot for business people and university students alike.
With access to central Hamburg, the park is never far away. From west to east locals walk to the Neustadt quarter with its busy shopping streets and restaurants from either the University or the more alternative St. Pauli and Karolinenviertel quarters. From Landungsbrücken to the south Planten un Blomen is spanning to the Messehallen exhibition halls and Dammtor station in the north. And no matter where you enter the park from, there is always something to explore.
Attractions
The Apothekergarten (lit. pharmacist's garden) offers a broad variety of medicinal herbs and plants. The Bürgergarten (lit. citizens' garden) is full of colourful flower arrangements and the Rosengarten specializes in ─ of course ─ roses. In summer, it is a special treat to see the more than 300 varieties in full bloom. One of the highlights of the park are the Japanese gardens. With their exotic plants and trees, intriguing rock formations, small ponds and a picturesque teahouse, these gardens are a true piece of art. There is hardly a quieter and more peaceful place in all of central Hamburg.
The sunniest place in Planten un Blomen is fittingly modelled around a Mediterranean topic. Dark slate stores the heat emitted from sunlight and allows for fig and lemon trees, hibiscus and gunnera to grow in the cooler Hamburg climate.
For more exotic plants and trees, the greenhouses are open year round. Enjoy biotopes resembling tropical rainforests, dry deserts and everything in between even with the park covered in snow and the lakes frozen over.
And this is not the only attraction in wintertime Planten un Blomen: As soon as the temperatures drop, the ice-skating rink is drawing crowds. In Summer, go for a game of miniature golf or outdoor chess.
Finally, when the sun sets over Hamburg, bring a picnic dinner, lie on the grass and watch the water features. The combination of illuminated fountains and classical music creates a one-of-a-kind experience. Be aware, you might end up soaking wet if you sit too close!" - [ Ссылка ]
