Hi everyone I'm John Renney and welcome to The Boneyard.
I've been a found footage horror and sci fi fan all my life. The mocumentary style of horror has captivated me ever since I saw a TV movie called 'Without Warning' and when the The Blair Witch Project hit big I was in line for every good, bad and ugly found footage imitator that followed in it's wake.
There is something about the found footage horror genre that lends itself to a unique kind of terror that is like no other horror sub genre.
Found Footage has its footing firmly in the low budget end of horror movies and for a brief period in cinema history, independent filmmakers give it there all to try and make it big and be the next Paranormal Activity or Blair Witch.
Many tried but most failed, but I'm here to tell you about the one that got away. So please join me as this episode we take a deep dive into the history of found footage horror and explore the doomed mission of the crew of Apollo 18, the world considered them dead but this newly discovered footage is here to tell us 'Theres a reason that we never went back to the moon'.
