Sensō-ji Temple is located in the Asakusa district and is a symbol of Japan's spirituality and culture. It was founded way back in the year 645, making it the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. According to legend, two fishermen brothers found a statue of the goddess Kannon in the Sumida River, and even though they tried to return it to the water, the statue always came back to them. Seeing this as a miracle, a temple was built to honor the goddess of mercy.
