Certainly a busy day in terms of steam, with not one, but two preserved Great Western Railway Castle Class locomotives on the move through Teignmouth!
Much to the delight of the crowds and the workers painting Teignmouth station, the sight of preserved Great Western Railway Castle Class number 5029 'Nunney Castle' with the southbound 'Anniversary Limited' tour from Westbury to Plymouth was a welcome turn up for the books in contrast to the slew of Class 150's and 143's. Here she's seen rumbling through at slow speed following the passing of a Class 143 pacer unit.
3 hours later, and powering south through Teignmouth with the Tyseley to Laira light engine movement is preserved Great Western Railway Castle Class number 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe', working a positioning move for tomorrow's 1Z48 railtour from Plymouth to Oxford, in co-operation with preserved Class 52 Western D1015 'Western Champion'.
Enjoy!
