The hysterosalpingogram (or HSG) is commonly prescribed to women during the infertility work up/diagnostic process. It's a quick outpatient, x-ray procedure that involves a small amount of dye injected into the uterine cavity to show if and where "spills" occur in your Fallopian tubes. It can give you important information about the health of your Fallopian tubes and diagnose blockages, which is critical even if you're pursuing IVF.
