Amid strained ties with Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an interview with Nikkei Asia has said that India wants "normal and neighbourly relations." However, PM Modi clarified that the onus is on Pakistan “to create a conducive environment free from terrorism and hostilities.” In the interview, Prime Minister also talked about India’s preparedness as the country remains locked in a border standoff with China. "India is fully prepared and committed to protect its sovereignty and dignity," PM Modi told Nikkei Asia.
