Paddy is an important field crop in most of the countries throughout the world. It requires standing water during its cultivation. So, it is obvious that obnoxious gases will be formed under soil. Such gases need to be released. Stirring during weeding is the best way to release such gases

Weeding for any crop is an important agricultural operation. Weeding should be done at time to get good plant growth. During weeding the uprooted weeds need to be inserted under soil. It has many advantages, like

a. It adds organic matters after decomposition.
b. Soil physico-chemical properties like water holding capacity, nutrient availability, aeration, etc. improved.
c. It enriches soil fertility.
d. It decreases fertilizer application.
e. It increases aeration in soil.
e. It makes nutrients available to the plants.
