The Typewriter marks the first appearance as Helen Kleeb & Mary Jackson as the Baldwin Sisters. Here they recount the very important history of their father's typewriter. Luckily for John Boy, he appeals to their softer side and they allow him to borrow the old machine so he can send a typewritten copy of his short story to Collier's Magazine. The story John Boy aims to type is the plot of The Homecoming TV movie, and him mentioning the recipe in it in no way influences the Baldwins' decision.
