We’ve always wanted to come to Borneo since the first time we landed in Malaysia last year. We didn’t make back then but we made it happen this time and here we are.
Borneo is the third largest island in the world and it’s divided into 3 different countries - Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. Borneo has the most beautiful rainforests we’ve ever seen and a great variety of animals inhabiting them. Some of the rainforests have been destroyed for the palm oil extraction and the government of the three countries have been working on it trying to preserve what’s left now.
But let’s not talk about that for now, right now we are staying in Kuching and the vibe here is different from peninsular Malaysia, people are extremely friendly and welcoming and even though it’s a big city it doesn’t feel like it everyone is so chilled and the traffic, if we can call it traffic, it’s barely inexistente.
