You can do a French knot - I promise!
The French knot is a pretty versatile stitch that can be modified by 1) changing the number of strands of floss that you’re using, and 2) changing the number of times you wrap your floss around your needle. In this tutorial, I’m using all six strands, and demonstrating one, two, and three wraps.
The two key pieces of advice I have for this stitch are:
* When bringing your needle back down, don’t go through that same hole you just made - go just *next* to it. This will prevent your French knot from being pulled right through the fabric.
* Hold your floss as you pull - don’t let go until you’re ready for the final pull-through. This will prevent your floss from knotting up.

SUPPLIES
Stand: This is the Sonata Seat Stand from Hawthorn Handmade. You don’t need a stand for embroidery, but I like this one!
Floss: I’m using all six strands of cotton embroidery floss. You can use fewer strands for different effects.
Fabric: This is a linen blend from Joann fabrics.
Transfer marks: I used a water-erasable transfer pen to draw my dots.
