Wimbledon made the best start possible to 2025 last night as we put in a clinical second-half performance to claim a vital 2-1 win away at Newport County.
Whilst Owen Goodman had to be at his best to keep out some dangerous shots from the hosts in the first-half, it was the duo of Josh Kelly and Romaine Sawyers who decided the contest in an attacking sense past the half-time break.
The striker plundered his third goal of the season before laying a second on a plate for Sawyers, who calmly stroked home his first for the Club, capping an excellent night for the Dons.
This saw us rise back up the league standings to second place, much to the delight of the travelling band of 358 Wimbledon fans.
