Pocharam wildlife sanctuary is 102 km from Hyderabad. 5 km from Pocharam village, it is situated in Medak district of Telangana.
The road from Hyderabad to Pocharam lake is lined with beautiful paddy fields and lush green vegetation.
Pocharam Lake and Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 130 sq km. It was a former hunting ground of the Nizams of Hyderabad.
The island located in the center of the reservoir is home to various species of shrubs.
The Nizam’s Bungalow, situated near the reservoir, was constructed in 1918. The reservoir serves as a storage point on the Allair River.
It's a perfect weekend getaway from Hyderbad. If you're planning a trip to the lake, do carry food & water along.
