Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that can help people cope with anxiety. CBT focuses on understanding how thoughts and behaviors impact feelings and emotions, and helps people recognize their patterns of thinking that may lead to emotional distress. CBT techniques for managing anxiety include challenging automatic negative thoughts, identifying triggers for anxious feelings, developing relaxation skills, learning problem-solving skills, increasing self-awareness and dealing effectively with difficult situations. Through CBT, people can learn to recognize when they are feeling anxious and employ strategies to decrease their anxiety levels. Utilizing these techniques can help in managing symptoms of anxiety and improving overall mental health.
