-Fr. Daniel Calabrese was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of New York. Reportedly, while at St. Paul’s in Congers, New York, Fr. Calabrese was caught drinking with teenage boys and showing them a pornographic video. He was transferred to St. Mary’s in Poughkeepsie, New York, and put in charge of youth programs at the parish. In 1992, Fr. Calabrese was convicted of sexually abusing a minor boy while he worked at St. Mary’s. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, five years’ probation, one year of treatment, and 1,000 hours of community service. In approximately 2003, it was reported that Fr. Calabrese was living in New Mexico and filed a request to be exempt from registering as a sex offender. Fr. Calabrese was named on the Archdiocese of New York’s 2019 “List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims” under the subsection “[t]he following archdiocesan clergy have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.” Fr. Calabrese was reportedly laicized in 2005. His current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
