Alkaloids are alkali like substance which are naturally obtained by the plants ,they have various therapeutic activity at a low concentration but becomes poisonous at a high concentration. And they contain nitrogen atom in their heterocyclic ring system.
They are present in plant in the form of salts, and are soluble in water 💧 and alcohal .
