The Tummy Shield inventor/engineer, George Baladi, and his wife experienced a sudden stop that they and their doctors believe caused their daughter's brain injury while she was in utero. They came to a new understanding of the risks involved with driving while pregnant.

After a lot of research into studies about driving during pregnancy and searching for a solution that would have prevented the injuries his wife and daughter experienced, he found a lot of data about the risks and no solutions. So he engineered a solution for his wife to use during subsequent pregnancies.
