The biogases industry is accelerating fast to contribute to energy security and EU climate objectives. Meet 4 companies - supporters of the European Biomethane Week - committed to a greener and more sustainable Europe. 👇
🤝 Hermann Benning (revis bioenergy GmbH) explains: “Our strategy is centred around close cooperation with local partners where we contribute our experience in large scale industrial biomethane production. By working together with local companies, we aim to create innovative projects that can efficiently produce biomethane from manure and other residues.”
🚍 Matti Vikkula (Biokraft) says: “A very small number of vehicles, like 2%, do stand for 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe. This is something easy to change. We have the production technology, raw materials, distribution channels, heavy duty vehicles in place. The company aims to have a capacity of 3 TWh by 2030 to support this change.”
🚀 Antoine Sabatier (ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales) states: “By 2030, ENGIE will invest 10 TWh of biomethane production per year in Europe. In addition, the company wants to be carbon neutral by 2045.”
♻️ Remco Huntjens (Green Create) presents the success story of the company plant in Wijster: “At the moment, we are offsetting 100,000 tonnes of CO2 and in the next phase we even seek to amplify that number to 300,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. We also process the waste in such a way that we limit the intake of water by reusing all the water.”
