Scorpions may not sound like an ideal food, but this scorpion soup is great as an appetizer or main course. Try it with a Chinese beer for a taste that will surprise you.

Do not eat this soup if you are allergic to shellfish.
Step 1: Heat oil
Start your scorpion soup by heating the oil in a large wok.
Step 2: Add scorpions
Add the scorpions and stir-fry for 20 seconds.

Canned and frozen scorpions are available through online retailers.
Step 3: Add garlic, pork, salt, pepper
Add the garlic, pork, salt, and pepper. Stir fry briefly.
Step 4: Add water and remaining ingredients
Add the water, ginger, dates, red berries, and carrot.
Step 5: Simmer on low
Simmer on low heat for 40 minutes. Remove the tip of the tail with a pair of scissors before eating the scorpion.
