In this video, we'll guide you through the process of graphing functions that have been transformed using translations, reflections, and/or scaling (stretches and compressions). You’ll learn to accurately represent these transformations on a graph and understand their effects on the function's shape and position. We will start by creating an appropriate table for the parent function of each graph before applying the transformations in the correct order to create the table of values for the graph. This will often require creating multiple tables of values. Included in this video is transforming a piecewise function, incorporating an old concept into this new unit! The method of identifying transformations in the video was developed in order to develop a more intuitive and less memorized approach to transformations. With clear explanations and practical examples, you'll gain the skills needed to graph scaling and reflections in functions confidently.
