Announcement from Founder, Owner and Editor-in-Chief Daniel Thompson:
In the video below, I announce several things that will be changing in the immediate future for the Observer as we enter 2021.
For those who are at work and do not have time to watch fully now, the key takeaways are:
- I have ended the Observer’s partnership with Racine County Eye and Kenosha Lens, and new pieces produced by the Observer will not appear on racinecountyeye.com;
- The Observer will be expanding to incorporate more of the creative elements of Kenosha -- the music scene, the arts, etc.
- And the Observer will still be covering the same things we have been, but with us growing in size, it’s time to utilize all of the experiences, sides and knowledge of our staff and collaborators, and to build a website conducive to that.
In order to accomplish these things, I will be taking time throughout the coming weeks to build a new home for the Observer that fits our tone, our vision as a group and reflects as many aspects of our community as we have the ability to highlight.
Thank you for your support now in another time of transition to our permanent home, but I promise you that this is the final transition.
Our next stop is the launch of the Observer in its full form, as best as we all know it right now.
I think it’s time for that.
And I think we’re ready.
