This whacking choreogrpahy I made together with my dancer friend Nadja Leham from Finland. Whacking is a freestyle dance style, but in order to understand the element of musicality better it can be helpful to use choreography.
Check out this video where we teach it to a group:

What is whacking?
The dance style: whacking/waacking originated in the Black and Latino LGBT+ clubs of 1970s on the West Coast of America, more specifically in Los Angeles. The club dance style can be characterized by the five elements: arm control, groove, punking/posing, musicality and footwork. On top of these elements, layers the dancer’s personal and unique style. Especially black and latino gay men, found freedom in the disco clubs where they expressed themselves through movements.
