The world football governing body, FIFA, has announced that the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar would not have 48 teams after all.
In 2017 Fifa decided to include more teams in the competition, upping the total from the 32 teams that usually participate.
Last year, the organisation's President Gianni Infantino said the change could go into effect in 2022.
It's unclear why FIFA made that decision. But one reason could be that African teams are among those least represented in the finals. Critics have pointed out that football needs to stand for more than just Europe and South America.
Qatar's been under an air, sea and land blockade by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt since June 2017.
