SURF & INLET Fishing Jones Beach EPOXY JIGS & TEASER for Fluke / Summer Flounder. Went out surf fishing for fluke the past few days all around Jones Beach from Jones Inlet, the Meadowbrook Bridge, Jones Beach surf as well as Captree and Jones piers for those wonderful summer flounder. The fluke are all over but picking a keeper fluke can be difficult. I decided to go to my old ways and cast epoxy jigs and teasers into the saltwater surf. In the past I have found August to be a good and big summer flounder month. The numbers were down on the fluke using the epoxy minnow and teaser - but the size of the flounder was up. Going to have to give the surf at Jones beach a few days to roast and try again. Hopefully some big fluke will move in.
Most effective on the beach, the epoxy jig and teaser will take big fish. In fact it will catch most fish during the hot summer months when flounder are active and chasing. The epoxy jig and teasers will also have a good by catch of about any fish the swims by it including pugfish, bluefish, striped bass and really anything that swims. The jig casts like a rocket and easily rigged with a dropper loop for a teaser. Be sure to use a loop knot or swivel for maximum action. I prefer to tie direct for this rig but all are welcome to do what ever the heck you want. I am happy to share my experiences with all those around the world and hope you enjoyed the video as much as we did making it.
