Testing a variety of laser safety glasses as well as a welding helmet against blue and red spectrum lasers.
Two sets of the laser glasses are much lower end models, they do protect the user to some degree but are not good enough for high power lasers, they would basically lessen the damage done but not save your eyesight!
The certified MCWlaser goggles I purchased through Amazon certainly work as advertised, only the brightest part of the laser is visible as a dull glow as opposed to simply cutting down a bit of the exposure.
I was surprised how well the welding helmet did but I imagine that's just because it massively cuts down on visible light notably the blue spectrum including UV, but the red laser was a bit more noticeable through it, so again low strength lasers are probably going to be cut out by a welding helmet but not as efficiently as good wavelength certified goggles.
