This is my video tour of the Mall at Millenia, which is located about 13 minutes drive south west of Downtown Orlando Florida.
The Mall at Millenia is a unique destination offering a fine collection of luxury brands and boutique shops in Orlando. This premium two-story mall opened in 2002 -- has more than 150 stores in nearly one million two-hundred thousand square feet of retail space. Inspirational architecture creates a distinct environment featuring award-winning lighting, glass elevators and several water features. When the mall first opened the surrounding area was mostly barren. In the years that followed things have changed dramatically with the neighboring area becoming a considerable draw for both business and tourists alike. Residential living, Corporate Office Buildings, Big Box Stores, World Class Restaurants and a new school now surround the mall. Frustration prevails as traffic congestion clogs the streets. Parking here is plentiful but does fill up quickly on the weekends and during the holidays. Once you find parking shopping is easy. Finding your way in and out of each store is seamless and window shopping can be fun. Notable stores include Brietling, Gucci, Versace, Cartier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Burberry, Prada, Rolex, Neiman Marcus, Kate Spade, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and of course, Apple. Dining options include fast food, casual, and fancy restaurants such as Brio Tuscan Grille, The Cheesecake Factory, The Capital Grille, P.F. Chang's and Sushi Katana. The food court has a small area for kids to chillax. No swings or slides just an indoor soft play area where you can supervise the little ones while munching on your chicken sandwich. The Mall at Millenia is privately owned by The Forbes Company. Founded in 1965 The Forbes Company owns, develops, and manages regional shopping centers. Specifically The Forbes Company owns and operates the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Florida, the Waterside Shops in Naples Florida and the Somerset Collection in Troy Michigan, one of the most profitable malls in the world. The Mall at Millenia is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and 11 to 7 pm on Sundays. Full service Concierge and valet parking are available. Just for fun I went shopping for single family residence in the area and found very little for sale. What I did find was selling for right around $150 per square foot. That translates into a 2,000 square foot home costing around $300k which is something to keep in mind if your shopping for a home in this area. I think this mall is very much alive and successful for the following reasons: Location, Value, Brands, Architecture, Cleanliness, Convenience, and Security. They say in real estate the most important thing is location, location, and finally, location. Well, this mall has an excellent location, that's for sure. Just off the main freeway minutes from downtown smack dab in the entertainment district. The mall is beautiful. Clean; even the roof of this place is clean! They have the name brands. It's busy here most of the time, even in the morning in the middle of the week proving shoppers experience value. Finally, it's secure. Security is everywhere. In all of the malls I've visited in Central Florida nothing comes close to the visible security seen at this mall. Too be honest I'm not sure that’s a good thing. All of that visible security could put people off. This is not my first video of the Mall at Millenia. In previous videos viewers have commented that there is no kids play area and that the mall is too expensive. It's true this is a high-end mall, but really only half of it. You'll find many of the same stores in other malls nearby. As for a kids play area it's true the one here is limited to the small area located in the food court. I should also note that there are many other stores just outside of this mall like Nordstrom Rack, IKEA, Target, Costco, Home Depot, Best Buy, Party City, Marshall's, Ross, Dicks, Old Navy, Academy Sports and many smaller stores as well. If you have any questions please let me know with a comment below and thanks for watching. See you next time. Buh-bye.
