DESTINATION #41 Tirta Gangga Water Palace This Beautiful Royal Palace looks like it’s been around for centuries but it was built in 1948 by the King of Karangasem in East Bali. It was designed as a place of worship and meditation for the Royal family. This famous tourist destination is known for its lavish gardens, magical fountains and feeding gold/koy fish in the spring water ponds.

The water of Tirta Gangga is purified by the local communities and has always been regarded as holy and is regularly used for religious temple ceremonies. The crystal clear water is free of chlorine and other chemicals. Soap is strictly forbidden, and visitors must wear appropriate clothing within the pool. Tirta Gangga is the destination of colorful processions with offerings, umbrellas, flags and other tributes.
