The National Gallery of Canada takes up 46,621 square meters with 12,400 square meter of space used for exhibiting art. It is one of the largest art museums in North America by exhibition space.
It is famous for the glass and granite building with a notable view of the Canadian Parliament buildings and 'Maman' outside the gallery.
The gallery's permanent collection includes over 93,000 works from European, American, and Asian, Canadian, and Indigenous artists. In addition to exhibiting works from its permanent collection, the gallery also organizes a number of travelling exhibitions.
