Not every good anime needs action but every Shonen anime does.
And of course, just by looking at Kaiju no 8, you know exactly what’s in store. And it delivers. Big time baby.
Kaiju no 8 is the best action anime of 2024.
The manga is great, at least for season 1.

We got big old kaiju monsters fighting humans with high-tech gear granting them superhuman-like abilities. So there are solid action scenes in about every episode.
But we also got kaiju man. The main character Kafka.

A radioactive kaiju bit him and he can now transform into a level 9000 kaiju-mon or something. I am paraphrasing of course.

But Kafka can transform into a kaiju almost at will and chooses this newfound power to slap the heck out of some meanie Bobeanie kaiju. And this is where we get some crazy sick action scenes.

Also, Kafka joins the kaiju strike force or whatever it’s called and we get to see some other characters shine, mostly, this chick, and it’s just plain old-school anime action fun.
