This video is for health care providers and first responders in the use, fit testing and application of re-usable respirators. The do's and don'ts when considering alternative devices to protect against covid-19. I will explain about negative pressure testing of the mask before EACH use. I'll also discuss the various components of the device and types of filters to use.
Best of luck to all my colleagues out there as we make do with the limited supplies we have. I have nothing but love and admiration for your selflessness.
JACHO statement supporting use of home ppe. Also supports wearing n95 or other surgical masks all day.

Elastomeric reusable masks (In the video) are more durable, better fitting and stand up to repeated disinfection and cleaning... See powerpoint link below for comparison of masks from the CDC

N95 filters: Filter 95% of particles 0.3 micron or greater
N100 Filters: Filter 99.97 of particles 0.3 micron or greater
P95 filters: Filter 95% of particles 0.3 micron or greater and some oils
P100 Filters: Filter 99.97 of particles 0.3 micron or greater and some oils
P vs N Filters for healthcare providers: Not really any difference. We shouldn't be worried about exposure to oils. So P or N Filters work. Try and get the 100 versions for higher protection
On the CDC website they have a chart listing P100,99, 95 and N100,99,95 as feasible filters for coronavirus. See this link for more info: [ Ссылка ]
CLEANING: Elastomeric respirators are not approved by the FDA for use in the hospitals and there is no clear policy from the CDC and NIOSH on how to clean them. However this study was referenced from the FDA for their current research into this very subject. I will be referencing this study for cleaning my mask:
