There are many alternatives to overpriced Chris Reeve Knives out there. It seems that Chris Reeve Knives is a GRAIL knife for lots of guys, but after a brief, unfulfilling Honeymoon, they list them for sale. I show a selection of them that would make a great choice if you are on a budget, or just think it is stupid to pay ridiculous money for a knife that has an inferior blade due to crap heat treat. I'm not referring to the blade shape, as I really do like the Insingo blade or even blade steel. But more directly, blade heat treat. I've made a few videos about the incredibly crappy heat treat that CRK does on the blade steel they invented. I firmly stand behind my comments on that subject. Until CRK makes a blade worthy of the handles they design, I'd steer away from buying one. There are many others out there at many price points that will serve you much better.

What do you carry and what do you think. Can you get a superior knife for 1/3 of the price of a Chris Reeve Knife?
