In 2014 when UAB football was shut down Bill Clark stayed and believed that he and the community would bring back the program. Not only did that happen, but since the return of the program UAB has had winning seasons, conference championship victories, new athletic facilities, a brand new stadium, and a new conference. In 2022 Bill Clark retired from UAB to have back surgery. The university and the community will always be grateful for his commitment to UAB football.
