As of January 1, 2019, 27 states have adopted the 2017 edition of the NEC and with it Article 690.12(B)(2) addresses PV array safety, for firefighters. California’s adoption starts in 2020. The biggest change in the 2017 edition is the requirement for inside the array rapid shut down.
