In this four-part series, Pure Storage introduces a set of validated reference architectures for all-flash VDI, delivering the all-flash VDI experience for less than $100/desktop.
Part 1: Storage Challenges of Next-Gen VDI
Part 2: Pure Storage Reference Architectures for VDI
Part 3: The All-Flash VDI End User Experience
Part 4: The All-Flash VDI Administrator Experience
In this first video, Pure Storage reviews the challenges associated with VDI, and how storage is at the root of many of the issues which lead to troubled VDI deployments. We discuss the transition to next-generation VDI, and how this transition increases the demands on storage, making flash storage almost a requirement for successful VDI deployment. Finally, we discuss Pure Storage's core product, the Flash Array, and how it uses a combination of consumer-grade MLC flash memory and inline data reduction technologies (deduplication and compression) to drive down the cost of all-flash VDI to less than $100/desktop in most configurations.
The video series is hosted by Pure Storage's VP of Products, Matt Kixmoeller (@mattkix) and Virtualization Solutions Architect, Ravi Venkat (@ravivenk)
